The product

Archivist Sort is local desktop software for macOS. It scans storage you select, surfaces findings with evidence, generates cleanup plans from your decisions, moves approved files to a journaled quarantine, and rolls back any quarantined move on request.

Your license

Personal (one-time purchase, at the price shown at checkout): Centennial Defense Systems ("CDS") grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Archivist Sort on Macs you own or control, for personal use. Includes the current major version and maintenance updates for that major version.

Team / organizational use requires a commercial site license — contact support.

You may: install the app, run local scans, review plans, execute approved quarantine and structure moves, and keep journals and receipts for your own records and recovery.

You may not: redistribute the binary; reverse engineer it to build competing products; use it to violate law; remove copyright or receipt-integrity marks; or run it as a service for third parties without a commercial license.

No automatic deletion

Archivist Sort is quarantine-first. It does not delete files. Approved cleanup actions move redundant copies into a journaled quarantine folder, which you can roll back from at any time before you choose to empty it.

Your responsibility: backups

Maintain backups before using any cleanup software. Archivist Sort quarantines rather than deletes, but any filesystem tool can be affected by bad inputs, failing drives, permission errors, interrupted power, or user choices. Archivist Sort is not a backup system, a disaster-recovery system, or a guarantee that a drive is healthy. Do not use it as the only copy of important files.

Updates

Purchase includes maintenance updates for the same major version, delivered through the same direct-sale download channel as the original purchase. Archivist Sort does not currently include a networked auto-updater.

Refunds

14-day refund window from purchase. Refunds are issued when you cannot run the app on a supported Mac, or the app materially fails to perform the described local workflow. Refund requests never require sharing your private drive contents.

Ownership

The software, trademarks, and documentation remain CDS property. Your files remain yours. Scan graphs, journals, and receipts stay on your machine. The open-source engine license in the source repository is separate from this commercial binary license.

No warranty

The software is provided "as is." CDS does not warrant uninterrupted operation or fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CDS is not liable for lost profits, data loss, or consequential damages arising from use of the software. Aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid for the license.

Termination

This license ends if you breach these terms. On termination, stop using the software. Your local journals and files remain under your control.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA.
